This tour will give you an opportunity to see a lot of wildlife, visit the Hadzabe at Lake Eyasi who are still behind the clock and still depending on hunting and gathering, and also trek the Empakai Crater.

Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for game drive, Tarangire s the sixth largest national park covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers. Tarangire is famous for its huge number of elephants, baobab trees, and tree climbing African pythons. Dinner and overnight at Kigongoni Campsite
Day 2: Lake Eyasi
Morning game drive in Tarangire National Park – then drives to Lake Eyasi to the Hadzabe Bushmen land. Their language resembles the click languages of other bushmen further south in the Kalahari. They live entirely off the bush and from hunting, generally small antelopes and baboons, although in rainy seasons gazelles and antelopes come down from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to their then lush bushlands offering them richer pickings. Day 3: Ngorongoro
After breakfast, you are going to search for a Hadzabe camp to see how they are living and go hunting with them. After lunch leaves Eyasi and drives to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of the natural wonders of the world. Dinner and overnight at Simba Campsite
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day crater tour. This is a world heritage site; the incomparable Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest “caldera”. Dominated by cliffs standing some 600 meters high and presenting a sheer drop down to a wide-open space of some 246 square km, and you may see all the “big five” from elephant to lion, and if you’re lucky, the near-extinct black rhino, all amongst large herds of zebra and wildebeest. Leave the crater and drive to Nainokanoka Special Campsite for dinner and overnight
Day 5: Trek to Empakaai (Crater highland)
Morning short trek at Olmoti, although not as spectacular as Ngorongoro, the extinct craters of Olmoti and Empakaai to the northeast are worth a visit for their scenic beauty and sense of solitude. They are not on the regular tourist trail. After a short walk at Olmoti, driven to the trekking starting point and trek to Empakaai (Masai rush out of their traditional homes to greet trekkers as they pass by). This day the trek can be walked (32 km, 20 miles), with spectacular views along the entire trek. The walk begins outside of Nainokanoka village, gradually ascending through silent stands of Nuxia, figs, crotons, and the high-altitude Hageniaabyssinica. When skies are clear there are views of the still-active volcano OlDoinyoLengai to the north, Lake Natron, and even Kilimanjaro far to the east. From the eastern section of the rim, a path leads to the crater floor through woodland where sunbirds feed on bright flowers. Dinner and overnight at Empakaai Special Campsite
Day 6: Back to Arusha
After a leisure breakfast, trek down to the sunken Empakaai crater, thickly forested walls plunge to a crater floor shared by a 259-foot deep lake and virgin grasslands. The armed ranger will be companioning you down to the floor & to hike back to the crater rim, which is heavily grazed by buffalo. Around noon drive back to Arusha.
